The Hive

A swarm of bees
Yellow Jackets
Surround
My dog and me
They are building a nest
In an old birdhouse
Hanging from a pine tree
Only a split second
It takes for me
To know, understand
We run, Freddy and me
Away from the swarm
He running in cricles
And me rubbing frantically
My scalp, days later
Still my head hurts
I feel the bumps
I should have
Worn a hat
