Garam Masala

“This is a mixture of several hot spices,
generally prepared ahead of time in small quantities
and used as need to flavor meats. It can be bought
in specialty stores, but has a fresher taste if you grind it yourself.
To make about a cupful, you will need:
25 cardamom pods (use seeds only)
1/2 cup whole black peppercorns
1/3 cup cumin seeds
1/cup whole coriander seeds
3 sticks cinnamon, each about 3 inches long
4-6 whole cloves
Combine all the ingrdients and grind very fine.
An Invitation to Indian Cooking
Now, my friends, you may be saying to yourself
“I don’t think we are at Bruce Barone’s Blog anymore
but walked into Bruce’s Kitchen.”
Not true. You are here.
I finished painting our sitting room
Garam Masala.
Paint from C2Paint.
Here, let’s have a look:

Susan and I love the new space. It is very warm and club-like.
All that painting (three coats) made me rather tired
and I soon retired to the living room to read the newspaper.
And lest you think I am new to the color and spice that is Garam Masala
please visit me at my kitchen to learn more about me
Bruce’s Garam Masala.
I would love to hear from you!
